Do you provide the documents needed?
We do NOT provide documents. Please have your documents ready and completely filled out EXCEPT for the signature.
What common ID documents are accepted?
Signer(s) must have a current (non-expired) State, Federal, or Military valid identification available at the time of appointment. Identification must have photo, signature, and physical description (e.g, Passport, Driver’s License, or ID card). Acceptable forms of identification include:
- State Issued identification card or driver’s license
- United States passport
- Inmate identification card (if in custody) issued by TX Department of Corrections or Sheriff’s Department.
What other types of ID documentation can I bring?
The following may be used as a valid ID document, provided they also contain a photograph, description of person, signature of person, and an identifying number:
- United States military identification card
- Foreign passport that has been stamped by US Immigration and Naturalization Service or the US Citizenship and Immigration Services
- Employee identification card issued by an agency / office of the State of Texas or and agency / office of a city, county, or city and county in Texas.
- Driver’s license issued by a Canadian or Mexican public agency authorized to issue driver’s licenses.

Additional Requirements
- Documents such as wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and trusts have to be signed in the presence of legal witnesses and a notary.
- Witnesses CAN NOT be family members of the signer(s), an employee of a facility if signer(s) is in a care facility, or receiving any benefit from the document.
- Signer(s) must be able to comprehend the contents of the document being notarized, must be able to communicate with the notary (speaking or writing), and must be of sound mind.
Legal Obligation
It is important to remember that a Notary Public is not an attorney. We are not licensed to practice law, prepare documents, or provide and legal counsel. By law, we are not able to create or provide forms such as Power of Attorney, Healthcare Directives, etc. The primary role of a Mobile Notary is to act as an impartial witness to the signing of documents and legal forms. We are, by law, prohibited to interpret contents, give instruction on how to complete, or offer guidance in the signing of any document(s).
